AHS Concert Choir Earns Invitation to ACDA Midwestern Regional Conference
The premier choral ensemble at Ankeny High School, the Ankeny High School Concert Choir, under the direction of Ben Walters, has earned the prestigious opportunity to perform at the 2024 Midwestern Regional Conference of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA). Scheduled for Thursday, February 8th, the Concert Choir will showcase a 30-minute program at the Holland Performing Arts Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Being selected to perform at an ACDA Conference is widely recognized as a pinnacle achievement for vocal music programs in the United States. To secure this honor, the choir submitted three years’ worth of performance recordings, showcasing a consistent pattern of excellence. The evaluation process involved a blind audition conducted by experts in the field.
