The Ankeny Student Political Engagement Club is a non-partisan club that aims to increase political awareness among the next generation of voters since young voters are amongst the least likely to turn out in elections. Those who enter the club must be willing to discuss multiple perspectives without judgement based on those perspectives. The club will include speakers from many positions within our government, community engagement such as debates on School Board measures and City Council policy, and coverage of national elections and political policy. This club entails conversation with people who differ in perspectives, therefore, respect and understanding are key qualities we look for in members.
